Bio: Dr Prodromos is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee surgery. He is Director of the Illinois Sportsmedicine and Orthopaedic Center and also Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics, Rush Medical College.
Bio: Dr Miriam Griggs graduated from medical school at the Eastern Virginia School of Medicine
in 1996. She completed my residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
in 2000. In 1997 she completed the UCLA course for medical acupuncture for
physicians and has been using acupuncture ever since. Dr Griggs moved to the
Phoenix area in 2000 and started her own solo practice in 2001. She specializes
in the non surgical management of back and joint pain as well as muscular
pain syndromes.
Bio: Dr. Peter J Millett specializes in disorders of the knee, shoulder, and sports medicine. He has a particular interest in arthrofibrosis and ligament injuries of the knee. Dr. Millett holds a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School and was formerly on the staff at the prestigious Massachusetts General and Brigham & Women's Hospitals in Boston. He serves as a team physician for the U.S. Ski Team.
Bio: Based at the Center for Sports Orthopaedics in the USA, Dr. David Trotter is Board Certified and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Orthopaedics Surgeons. Having developed and integrated a specific surgical combination of UniSpacer/partial synovectomy, Dr. Trotter continues to treat appropriate national and international candidates. He has traveled the world (including with the US Women's Soccer Team) extensively in pursuit of ongoing medical teaching and global medical knowledge.
Bio: Based at the Cincinnati Sportsmedicine and Orthopaedic Center in the USA, Dr Frank Noyes is one of the world's most prominent figures when it comes to knee surgery.
A prolific researcher and writer, he has published over 200 studies and articles in the world's top orthopaedic journals and textbooks, changing the face of sports medicine and orthopaedics as we know it. He serves on eight editorial review boards and is a manuscript reviewer for more than seven internationally respected journals.
Bio: Dr Jeff Chew (Chew Tec Hock) is a specialist knee surgeon. He qualified in medicine in Singapore in 1989 and went on to gain the UK specialist surgeon qualifications in 1994. He has travelled the world extensively in the pursuit of his studies and now works at the East Shore Medical Centre in Singapore.
Bio: Dr El Shazly (BSc, MBBCh MChOrth) is a consultant specialist surgeon at the Droitwich Knee Clinic in the UK and also currently holds an honorary lectureship at the University of Sheffield.
Although his practice involves the full spectrum of knee disorders, he has a particular interest in lower limb reconstruction using external fixators when a limb has become shortened or deformed from unhealed or badly-healed fractures or bone infection.
Dr El Shazly lectures widely and serves on the executive committee of The Knee Foundation, an educational charitable trust. He is currently working on his doctorate thesis on radiological, histological and biochemical characteristics of non-union.
Bio: Dr Ronald P. Grelsamer, M.D., board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1987, is the chief of hip and knee reconstruction at Maimonides Medical Center, and a staff orthopaedic surgeon at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases/Orthopaedic Institute.
He is listed in New York Magazine's "Best Doctors of New York," and in Castle Connolly's directory of "American Top Doctors".
Dr Grelsamer is an avid patient advocate who is dedicated to diagnosing and treating even the most complicated orthopaedic cases. His specialties include patellar pain, hip and knee arthritis surgery, arthroscopic surgery, knee ligament reconstruction and the diagnosis of mysterious knee pain.
Bio: Sue Barber-Westin is the Director of Clinical and Applied Research at Cincinnati Sportsmedicine Research and Education Foundation (since 1983), and the founder of Westin Research Consulting.
She has published extensively in the medical press, and in 2004 she received the OREF Clinical Research Award, presented jointly by the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. This award recognises the most distinguished clinical research project related directly to musculoskeletal disease or injury in the entire field of orthopaedics.

Bio: Teresa Sliwinski at the age of 42 had a microfracture procedure which became complicated by a deep vein thrombosis (DVT). She decided to maintain a diary of the experience, giving KNEEguru readers a valuable insight into her daily life as she struggled with her rehabilitation.

Bio: Dr Sheila Strover (BScHons MBBCh MBA) is the person behind 'the KNEEguru', the specialist website which she launched in 1995 when the internet was in its toddler years.
As a medically-qualified anaesthesiologist, she became interested in keyhole surgery of the knee while giving anaesthetics for several knee surgeon pioneers in the 1980s, and she went on to be a co-founder of the Droitwich Knee Clinic and The Knee Foundation, an educational charitable trust.
The KNEEguru website has, under her watchful eye, evolved to a vibrant interactive online community of patients and clinicians.
Bio: Tony Wilson is a recognized authority in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, particularly manipulation, sports medicine and anterior knee pain and a lecturer/researcher at Southampton University.
He practices at the Medical Centre in Chichester in the UK and manages a full clinical workload, as well as a demanding academic workload, lecturing and publishing internationally
He is physiotherapist to the British Olympic Sailing Team and a member of a network of physiotherapists attached to the English Institute of Sport.
